The PTC welcomes our community to attend the next open PTC meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 13 at Marie Murphy.

Silent Auction Update
Thank you to everyone who bid on, or purchased an item from our biggest fundraiser of the year, the silent auction! We raised a total of $5,824.17 this year! A huge thank you to all of our donors for your generosity. Proceeds from the Silent Auction will be used for Innovation Grants and to fund PTC events and programs, directly benefiting our children.
The PTC fundraising team will be reaching out to the winning bidders with more information on how to redeem their items in the next few days. If you have any questions or don't receive instructions by the end of the week, please email Joseph Lai, ([email protected]). We thank you for your support, and your patience while we get your items to you.

Despite consistent maintenance, our buildings are aging and no longer meet the needs of our students. Our buildings face basic maintenance and infrastructure challenges such as failing plumbing, aging electrical systems, and roofs, along with cracking concrete and drywall in classrooms that were designed more than 65 years ago.
Join us at an open house to see firsthand how we can keep our schools up-to-date and in good working condition:
- TONIGHT March 5 at Avoca West from 5-8 p.m.
- TOMORROW March 6 at Marie Murphy from 5-8 p.m.
5th Grade Party Reminder
Get ready for an unforgettable celebration on Friday, May 31! Here's what we need from our 5th-grade parents/guardians:
- Complete the 5th Grade Party Form: Show your support with a contribution of $40 per family. Pay online, by check (made out to Avoca PTC), or with cash. Remember to label your payment with your child’s name and teacher. You can also Venmo @clarey2k. Don't forget to include your student's full name.
- Share a memory: Send in a 4x6 photo of your child from their kindergarten days. Submit a physical copy to your class teacher or email a digital version to [email protected]. Group photos from their time at AW are welcome too! These memories will be part of our special video montage.
We're counting on your forms, payments, and photos by March 29. Let's make this party an unforgettable experience for our 5th graders!
2024 PTC Executive Board - Positions Open
Would you like to be a part of decision-making for your PTC? Would you like to have your voice heard? We have several exciting opportunities for volunteers to lead the next PTC, beginning in the 2024-2025 school year. All positions are 2-year terms. If you're interested, please contact Joanne Routsolias at [email protected].
President - We are looking for our next president. If you would like to help preside over all meetings and help where needed, this is the position for you.
VP for Marie Murphy - We need a new VP for Marie Murphy. This position will be the liaison between the PTC and committees with Marie Murphy.
Secretary - Our secretary position is also open. This individual will take minutes in our meetings.
Treasurer - We need a new treasurer who will collect and receive all funds for the PTC.
Director of Volunteers - The director of volunteers position is also up for election. This will be our lead recruiter for all the events that we have during the school year.
Director of Communications - We are also searching for a new Director of Communications. This will only be a one-year term as the current holder will be moving out of the district. The Director of Communications will be the lead for all marketing and communications efforts for the PTC.
