     I love teaching at Avoca West. The community is like no other I have experienced. I believe that one of the most important aspects of being an educator is first making sure that students feel comfortable and safe to be themselves in the classroom. Following our "BRAVE" model at AW, Valuing diverse perspectives is essential.
Making great mistakes is necessary and I truly believe in the growth mindset mantra, "The Power of Yet." Once children understand and believe that working through difficult tasks and making mistakes along the way is an imperative part of the process, the true learning can begin.
I feel fortunate to be a part of this exceptional community as both an educator and a parent in the district.
